Greetings from the Hol(e)y Land

You may or may not know already that I’m spending the summer far, far away in BYU’s Jerusalem center. Of all the study abroad programs BYU offers, this is clearly the best. No offense intended to all my dear friends who are somewhere else, but really. It’s amazing here. Not only do I get to nerd out big time over all the historical sites and landmarks, but I get to learn secret details about them from BYU’s crazy-smart professors who appear to know literally everything. NO BIGGIE.

Anyway, I know you’re only here to look at my awesome photos (National Geographic has been begging me for permission to use them, but I’m like, nah, I’ll save ’em for the blog).

Everyone needs a blurry, tired-faced airport layover shot, right?

Looks like Utah! Feels like home.

Our view from the center, can you believe this? I have been getting up early to look at this. I repeat: I HAVE BEEN GETTING UP EARLY. YEAH.

A wild Mormon tourist appeared in the Orson Hyde Garden! What!

One of the many Gethsemane sites claiming to be a significant site from Christ’s life. Not sure who to believe or what happened where, but this was definitely a beautiful spot.

Cool little cavern-under-the-ground church. This was one of my favorite spots from today’s journeys.

p.s. each week I’ll be featuring a classic dad pun and post something holey from the Holy Land. Ha ha. (That was just for you, Glazier fam, who is probably so sick of that pun by now that they are rolling their eyes).
